Exactly what it says on the tin. I took some time to improve. Now i'm back.

Word.

Well, i'd like to think so....

Right, i have been doing a lot of work on my photography lately and have produced some images that i am very, very proud of. I will be uploading them over the next couple of days and will also be going through all the deviations i have yet to see ( about 120 at the moment ).

Truth be told i have been a little distracted by another site and have decided that DA will become the place where i post the truly "stand out" shots that i manage to get.

A massive thanks to all the people at [link] in the photography forum. The constant chatter and debate with them means i have learned a huge amount. Massive thanks to DancesSoSexy as always for her constant lessons in photography and our constant discourse is what is/is not photography to us!

I think i can say with a degree of confidence that i am improving as a photographer, and in the sense of photo manip as a visual artist as well.

The last few weeks have been great. DancesSoSexy has been her usual fantastic self, giving me homework, critique and encouragement where needed. Couldn't ask for a better mentor at this lark.

Did a quick shoot with her at the end of a mates shoot and it worked well so hope to do something very soon with both her and another friend of mine. Feeling much better about the prospect of character shoots now, which is great.

All in all i think what i am putting out now is better than when i started and once i can keep saying that then i'm winning.

Communication is key.

Okay, so tonight is a journey into character town. Hopefully Rip Razor will be getting his first bit of lens time and some interesting shots will come from it. The entire character history is pretty much drawn up now and i have enough detail for about 6 or 7 different shoots from it.

Basically i am using Rip as a "comfort" zone, i know how he thinks, how he acts, how he wants to be seen in his guilty little psycho killer world. It will allow me a degree of consistancy in character as i experiment with different types of photography and other characters that he will interact with throughout his life.

Hopefully the story of Rip will be told throw photo, documenting his life and loves and evil deeds. Tonight will be a pretty basic shoot, finding the character and establishing him as he is NOW, confident, cocky and secure before moving back and forward in time to cover some of his more interesting moments.

Hell, he might even kill someone tonight, i'm not too sure.

Results should start to hit DA by the weekend i hope as Friday night will mostly be spent neck deep in Photoshop finding the monster in the man.

Mr Razor, i salute you, please don't kill me!

Okay, so i am slightly hyper right so forgive this journal entry. Lots of clear thoughts and visions about future projects are really pulling me under right now and i am also very excited about attending DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist later today. Not to mention Kid Koala.

Yes indeed.

Anyway, i have some clear idea's for some set shoots that i want to do, the first one working two different themes should be done within the next two weekends i hope!

After that i am hoping to break out some old characters i used to work on for this crazy comic book idea i used to work on. I'm going to take three of the characters and work on presenting my idea of them through photography.

Willing models have been found ( thank you all! ) , props and the right setting are all available.

Oh yes indeed, this will be fun. Finally, my own concept of what photography is to ME is slowly starting to develop and this in itself is a very interesting process to go through!

Anyway, enough chit chat, time for razzle-dazzle.
